Star Wars Weekend at Disney

I took the kids to Disney today since Daddy was out of town. I did not realize that they were having a special event at MGM Studios. It was a special Star Wars Experience. The kids and I saw so many Star Wars characters. We saw Bobofet, Storm Troopers, Sand People, Darth Vader, Darth Mal, an Ewalk, Mickey Mouse Jedi and Queen Amadalia. We also saw a special preview of Season 2 of Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon and how they do the voice overs for the show. Noel really enjoyed this. The kids and I had a great time!

More Memorial Day 2009

On Monday we had our own pool party with our friends the Foxes. They came over with 3 of their boys and their dog Colby. We had a good time swimming, grilling and when it started to rain, as it does every afternoon, the kids came in and played the Wii. Tucker and Ella played with the doll house in Ella's room and the boys fought one another with Light Sabers on Star Wars Clone Wars Wii game. I was so busy having fun with our friends that I failed to take many pictures!!

Memorial Day Weekend 2009

We spent a wonderful day at the Saunders Lake house. Big Nathan got on the jet ski and spent many hours giving rides and driving all around the lake. He had a blast. Noel and Grace had fun tubing and Noel even tried wake boarding. Little Nathan and Ella played in the lake for hours. Kris loved riding in the boat and just relaxing and visiting with the other adults. We are very thankful for our friends the Saunders and their gift of hospitality.

Something about living in Florida

Our area of Florida has been experiencing a drought for the last 3 years. Normally the rainy season begins mid-June through August. Well this year we had alot of rain in May. When it rains in Florida it does not rain all day or even ever drizzle, it monsoon rains. It usually starts in the later afternoon then goes into the evening. Well, we were having monsoon rains of 6+ inches at a time within a matter of a few hours for days in a row. One of these nights Nathan and I were getting ready for bed and as we walked past the front door we happened to see this fellow. He was stuck to the window next to our door about 4 ft from the ground. He was really cool and we wished the kids had been awake to see him. When we woke in the morning he was gone. We wonder what other creatures we will see living in this tropical climate!

Tampa Bay Rays Game

Last Sunday after church we headed over to St.Petersburg to our first Tampa Bay Rays baseball game. It was free t-shirt day so we were excited when we got there to get a free t-shirt. This was the first major league game for the kids so they were full of questions and excitement. After the game we went to the Pier. We had dinner in a cuban restaurant that looks over Tampa Bay. The cruise ships and sail boats were going by. It was beautiful. We then explored the pier. They have a tall ship that has been in the movies (Grace thought this was very cool), people fishing and it was very windy. We decided that we really like St. Petersburg and look forward to exploring more in the future.

Ella's 1st Playdate

So I know this is bad but Ella being the 4th child has never had her own play date. Grace was having play dates when she was 1 yr. old. I guess this makes it all the more special for Ella. She invited her friend Gretchen over and we had a Princess Party. Grace and I helped to do their hair and makeup and then set up a special princess lunch for them. They both giggled and screamed with delight and ran around saying "bippity boppity boo". Finally they got out all the Barbies and doll houses and played in Ella's room. It was a fun, sweet time for both Ella and Gretchen.

Aunt Lorna and Uncle Jason

Aunt Lorna and Uncle Jason were here the last week of April for a fun filled week. We always love when they come to visit. They love playing with the kids and the kids love playing with them. Kris also likes having her sister in law around :) We spent the week playing in the pool, celebrating Ella's birthday, putting together Lego Star Wars ships and just enjoying one another. Now everyone has gone their own ways and we are getting back into regular life here. Thank you to all our loved ones who made the trip to see us this April. We enjoyed each one of you greatly and look forward to your return!
